Internet Governance Policy issues are discussed at the Global Internet Governance Forums held at locations around the world once a year. On a Regional Level, each region hosts a Regional IGF. The Asia Pacific Regional IGF is known by the abbreviation APrIGF. www.aprigf.asia
APrIGF will be held at Delhi, during August 3-6 at Hotel Crown Plaza, Greater Noida, hosted by the Internet Service Providers Association of India (ISPAI) and the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI)
This is not a Seminar / Conference in the usual format, but a very interactive discussion of OUR own proposals, by Government representatives, Business Representatives, the Internet Technical Community, the Academic Community and Civil Society, all seated equally around the table. So, it would be an interesting opportunity for all members to participate.
Those who are interested in the Internet Governance issues, may pay attention to the Theme of the year at www.aprigf.asia and consider sending a proposal to Organize a Workshop under any of the topic areas. The call for the Workshop proposal recieved from the APrIGF Multi-Stakeholder Group (MSG) is posted below for the benefit of those who might be interested: (Please be interested. These are issues that matter to all of us.)
The main theme and sub-themes of APrIGF 2014 has recently been published online. In order to allow more time for the development of proposals from the community, the MSG has decided to extend the submission deadline to 7 May 2014. There will not be any further extension of deadline. Submit your proposal now!
